San Francisco Domestic Violence Defense During COVID-19 Crisis

San Francisco Bay area domestic violence defense during shelter-at-home order

Defense Attorney for Domestic Violence Charges in San Francisco County, CA

Marin County and San Francisco County are seeing an increase in domestic violence complaints during the "shelter in place" orders, as couples and families contend with financial stress, alcohol and drug dependency, and anger management issues.  You are not alone and my office is here to help, whether you are a victim or you are the target of a false or exaggerated complaint.

Some of you may be cited or even arrested for violations of one or more of the following California Penal Code offenses:

Penal Code section 273.5(a) (felony or misdemeanor) - corporal injury to a spouse, cohabitant, child, current or former fiance, someone you are now (or were) in a dating relationship with.

Penal Code section 242 (misdemeanor) - the willful and unlawful use of force or violence upon the person of another (this can be as simple as grabbing another person by the arm).

Penal Code section 236 (felony or misdemeanor) - false imprisonment (violating the personal liberty of another (this can be as simple as preventing someone from walking away from you or blocking their path).

Penal Code section 422 (felony or misdemeanor) - criminal threats against another person (can be a phone call threatening to kill or beat somebody up).

Penal Code section 591.5 (misdemeanor) - unlawfully and maliciously removing, injuring, destroying, damaging, or obstructing the use of any wireless communication device with the intent to prevent the use of the device to summon assistance or notify law enforcement or any public safety agency (this can be as simple as briefly grabbing a cell phone away from another to prevent them from calling the police).

We can often get these charges dismissed or at least lessened, but the time to retain us as your legal counsel is now before you incriminate yourself with recorded statements to the police or write apology letters or messages.

Call us now and leave a message for immediate legal assistance in dealing with anyone or more of these issues.  I will personally call you right back.  Paul Burglin of the BURGLIN LAW OFFICES, P.C. 415-729-7300
